In the second game of the Premier League season, Wolves host Manchester United at Molineux Stadium. Wolves had their goal overturned by VAR and had to settle for a scoreless draw against Leicester in their season debut. While Manchester United used a dominating second half to beat Chelsea 4-0.

Despite finishing only one place behind Manchester United, Wolves were nine points back of United. The Wanderers might have been able to challenge for a top-six spot last season had they been able to score more goals. Wolves scored the eighth fewest goals in the Premier League last season. The Wanderers had their chances against Leicester but could not score a goal. Highly regarded Italian striker Patrick Cutrone could get a greater opportunity to play against United. Wolves made Cutrone a priority this season after the 21-year-old fell out of favor at AC Milan. Cutrone has flashed potential in Serie A but struggled to nail down a full-time starting spot. If Cutrone can get hot, he could start a lot of games for Wolves this season.

Manchester United got off to a slow start but took over the game after scoring their first goal of the season. Anthony Martial was taken down inside of the box, leading Marcus Rashford to step up to the spot and score. Rashford scored a brace against Chelsea, while Martial also scored. All three of United’s summer additions had strong performances against the Blues. Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka played well in the back four. While Daniel James came off the bench to score in his debut. The Red Devils will look to build on their strong start to the season as they look to qualify for the Champions League.
